Republicans seek candidate in 18B

The Republican Party in Senate District 18 announced last week that a search committee will meet to interview any individuals interested in seeking the Republican endorsement in House District 18B, the seat recently vacated by retiring Rep. Bob Ness (R-Dassel).

The search committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at Hojies Restaurant in Dassel.

"We encourage any Republicans who have ever considered public service in the Minnesota House of Representatives to meet with the search committee," said Brad Anderson, a leader in the Meeker County Republican Party.

"While Rep. Ness's shoes will be tough to fill, we know there are many well-qualified Republican candidates who can step in and continue his hard work on behalf of our communities in St. Paul," added Mary Huhn, a Republican activist.

The new House District 18B encompasses Meeker County, including Manannah and Union Grove townships, as well as the western part of Wright County.
