Summer ice planned at arena

River Lakes Hockey, the Cold Spring Area Hockey Association, and the Paynesville-New London-Spicer Hockey Association are planning to have a month of summer ice at the Koronis Civic Arena in Paynesville Township this June. Summer ice is planned from Monday, June 6, until Friday, July 1.

Power skating and stick handling clinics as well as other camps and clinics will be held from June 6-10; and various camps and leagues (four-on-four and five-on-five) will be held throughout the month of summer ice. Goalie camps will be offered on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18.

Camps and leagues will be divided into age groups: mites (eight and up), squirts (ten and up), peewees (12 and up), bantams (14 and up), and high school.

Extra insulation and ice-making equipment was added to the Koronis Civic Arena by the PNLS Hockey Association, which operates the arena, and Paynesville Township, which owns the facility, to be able to offer summer ice.

To register for camps or clinics, go online to www.eteamx.com/ pnlshockey/.
