The Region 5 contest was held June 7 with 11 girls vying for the honors from 10 counties. Crowned Region 5 Princess was Kristi Pettis, 20, Winthrop. The other attendant is Mary Kay Schuff, 19, Gaylord.
As Region 5 attendant, Herem will be required to hand out pamphlets on the dairy industry at restaurants, ride in parades, hand out ice cream cones or sundaes at Kandiyohi County banks and more.
The Herem's farm 80 acres southwest of Paynesville and milk 30 Holstein cows. A recent Paynesville graduate, RoxAnn participated in DECA and played the alto saxophone in the band.
