Bank hires mortgage consultant

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

Jane Welle is the new home mortgage consultant at Community First National Bank.

Welle took over her duties in mid-April after spending two weeks in Georgia and New Jersey receiving specialized training. She handles all types of mortgage lending, including new construction, refinancing, and first-time mortgages.

Welle has a strong background in finance and banking. She grew up in Melrose and had a job at a bank during high school. After graduating from Melrose High School, she attended Alexandria Technical College where she studied finance and credit. She worked at a bank in Alexandria for two years and has been a loan officer at First National Bank in Sauk Centre for 23 years.

Welle knows that working with a loan officer for a mortgage can be intimidating and tries to make customers comfortable through the whole process. She said she likes to remind customers that she is just a regular person.

Welle and her husband, Steve, who also works in Paynesville, still live in Sauk Centre but they are planning to move to the Paynesville area and would love to live on one of the lakes. She said she likes Paynesville because of its hometown feel and friendly people adding that it is a lot like Sauk Centre.

Welle plays as hard as she works and enjoys golfing, water-skiing, and wake-boarding with Steve and their five children.
