Meeker County Sheriff
Ben Aho

Ben Aho, 35, of Watkins works for the Litchfield Police Department and is a Meeker County Reserve Deputy.

Why are you running for sheriff? I want to return the office of the sheriff back to the people of Meeker County where it belongs. Building relationships with county residents at all levels of the sheriff's office is important to me. I believe the sheriff's office belongs to the people of Meeker County, and effective law enforcement results from effective interaction between the office and the community.

What fresh ideas would you bring to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office? Using the current resources of the sheriff's office to reduce property crime through innovative and proven effective crime prevention programs such as offering home and premises security surveys; empowering and educating our citizens to stop crime before it happens...or before it happens again. To further my vision of a transparent sheriff's office, I will start a Citizen's Academy...a tremendous program that gives our residents the unique opportunity to learn hands-on about and experience the various responsibilities of the sheriff's office.

How are you better qualified for this position than your opponent? I bring enthusiasm, renewed energy, and a commitment to return the sheriff's office to the people of Meeker CountyÉsomething that has been missing for many years. I listen to the people and their wants and needs. I have the support of so many Meeker County residents, Meeker County businesses, and, yes, even the support of Meeker County law enforcement. People are ready for change.

What is your vision for Meeker County? To give the residents of Meeker County the confidence their sheriff's office is protecting and serving their county. To provide a department that has employees that are knowledgeable and trained to meet the needs of Meeker County residents. To have a transparent sheriff's office.
