Brent Heinen started on the mound and went six innings and held Richmond to just two hits. Chris VanderBeek threw the seventh inning for the Rangers.
Ben Bork, Todd Leyendecker, VanderBeek, and Kenny Winter all had two hits apiece for Roscoe.
Roscoe took a two-run lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back after that. Leyendecker had a two run single in the inning for the Rangers.
Heinen took control after that and kept Richmond out of the game.
Leyendecker also had a two-run double in the third, and VanderBeek then drove in Leyendecker with a single.
Roscoe scored two more in both the fourth and fifth.
Roscoe is now 1-0, in the playoffs. They played Farming on Tuesday night, Aug. 4. A full report will be in next week’s Press.
If Roscoe wins they play either in Regal or Roscoe on Tuesday night, Aug. 11.
