The Bulldogs gave up 41 first half points to EVW as their losing streak grew to five, after losing 61-50, on Monday, Jan. 27 in Paynesville.

The Bulldogs were led by Grant Bowden with 18 points. Ross Jenniges also chipped in 11 for the Bulldogs.

Paynesville came out looking flat and slow defensively, giving up 41 of the 61 Eagles points in the first half.

In the second half, the Bulldogs seemed to be more fired up, but they couldn't close the Eagle's lead, even though Paynesville only gave up 20 second half points.

The Bulldogs offense never seemed to get on track throughout the entire game. They only scored 23 second half points.

The last Bulldog win was December 20 against Ogilvie. Paynesville has been in many close games since then and has not been able to pull a single one of them off.

Litchfield

Mike Stalboerger led the Bulldogs with 25 points. Both Grant Bowden and David Hemmesch also had 11.

In the first meeting between the two teams the Bulldogs lost 59-52 in Litchfield, holding freshman Alex Carlson under 20 points. But Mike Grossinger took over and hit two late three-pointers to beat the Bulldogs.

Throughout the night the Dragons were able to beat the Bulldogs with three-pointers by Carlson and Van Liere.

Paynesville Center David Hemmesch helped the Bulldogs out by hitting his first ever three-pointer late in the first half, but the Bulldogs were still down by ten at the half, 33-23.

With two minutes left in the third, the Bulldogs pulled within three, 46-43; however, in the final two minutes of the third Litchfield scored eight points on two three-pointers and a couple of free throws to make the score at the end of the third 54-43.

Litchfield was able to run away with the game, winning by the score of 75-61. This was the Bulldogs sixth loss in a row. Their record is now 3-9.
