PHS dance line second in competition

The Paynesville Piourette Dance Team competed in their first competition of the season at Simley on Saturday, Dec. 14. The girls placed second behind first place Waconia and in front of third place St. Croix Lutheran.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Piourettes will be competing at Montevideo against area schools, including Litchfield, New London-Spicer, Melrose, Montevideo and other area dance teams, beginning at 12 p.m. in the Montevideo High School.

The following week the Piourettes will be competing at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. This competition includes two dance categories, both precision/high kick, which Paynesville is in, and jazz funk. Classes A, AA, and AAA will all be performing at the U of M.

Watch for Piourettes performances at halftime of varsity boys and girls basketball games and before varsity wrestling matches.

Team Scores
1) Waconia- 1st place;
2) Paynesville- 2nd place;
3) St. Croix Lutheran- 3rd place.

The Paynesville Piourette Dance Team recently held a dance camp, Santa Kicks, for all K-sixth grade students interested in dancing, and the Piourettes would like to thank all of the girls who attended and their parents for their great job dancing at halftime and for helping the Piourettes raise money for upcoming events.
