The River Lakes Stars faced Cathedral on Thursday night, Jan. 22. The game was the Stars’ first in over a week. It was also their first home game in over a month.

Cathedral started the game by moving most of the play inside the Stars zone. Cathedral used their speed and excellent passing to keep their offense going. The Stars, though, managed to strike first. Jeff Jacobson took a pass from Matt Schott and thrust the puck at the goal. In the confusion in front of the net, a Cathedral player knocked the puck in.

While killing the penalty, Dustin Looman scored from a pass by defenseman Chris Soine.Ryan Mackedanz, with a pass from John Thompson, scored the final goal of the second period, to make the game 6-3.
Mackedanz scoring his second goal of the night on a power play in the third period. Cathedral then put the game away with two more goals in the latter half of the period, making the score 9-4.
