The varsity gymnastics team won their meet on Tuesday, Dec. 22 against Kimball/EV-W with a score of 121.3-114.15.The first event of the night for Paynesville was vault. Michelle Wolbeck got an 8.15 putting her in fifth place. Coming in fourth was Camille Flanders with an 8.2. Earning third place was Joy Hemmesch with a score of 8.35. Vaulting into second place was Krysta Larson with an 8.4.
Next was the bars competition. Coming in fifth with a 6.65 was Rachel Koehn. Receiving third place was Joy Hemmesch with a 7.4. Next was Camille Flanders with a 7.8, earning second place. Swinging into first was Krysta Larson with a 7.85 and a nice routine.
On the beam Camille Flanders tied for fifth with a Kimball/EV-W gymnast, both getting a 6.8. Coming in fourth was Rachel Koehn, pictured above, with a 6.9. Earning third place was Joy Hemmesch with a 7.0. Krysta Larson balanced into first with a score of 8.05.
Last but not least was the floor competition. Rachel Koehn earned fifth place with a 7.4. Tumbling into third was Joy Hemmesch with a 7.9. All the other gymnasts had nice routines but didn’t make it into the five.
In the All-around competition Joy Hemmesch received a 30.65 putting her in third place. Earning first was Krysta Larson with a 31.4.
