“Heather continues to get stronger mentally. She was considerably more consistent with her scores this season and has welcomed tougher inner-squad competition. Many top players fear losing the number one spot. Heather welcomes challenge and always plays her game no matter what spot she plays. She is a very classy player and leads us well as a captain. Heather was named All-MIAC,” Coach Theresa Solarz said.
Schmitt said, “The season went well both individually and as a team. I found I felt more comfortable out on the course as far as competition is concerned. I had a lot of fun competing and spending time with my teammates. They are a great group of people that have high potential for next year. I believe we can conquer even higher goals in the future. The talent is there. We just have to put it all together.”
Highlights of the team’s fall season were two victories over Concordia and a second place MIAC finish ahead of Gustavus.
