The Paynesville girls cross country team wrapped up their season on Monday, Nov. 3, with a meal at Jimmy's Pizza place. The casual atmosphere and the closeness of the team resulted in a fun night for participants, coaches, parents, and friends.

Coach Darrel Carstens, Coach Rick Houske, and Coach Ochs spoke about the season. They told about how the girls team became very close, and did well at meets. They also expressed their high expectations for next year's team. There are many young girls on the team who are continuing to improve as runners. In addition, there are no seniors on the team to lose to graduation. For these reasons Coach Carstens has adopted the slogan "State in ‘98" for the girls because of their goal to go to state next year.

Awards for various honors were also handed out. They are as follows:

MVP: Erin Aagesen
Hardest Worker: Jen Hess
Most Mileage: Erin Aagesen
Most Enthusiastic: Tiff Rausch
Most Improved: Mesa Frenchick and Danielle Lieser
All-Conference: Jen Hess, Danielle Lieser, and Erin Aagesen
