The team made a good showing at sections, according to coaches Barb Werlinger and Jeanne Virant.

The Bullettes continued to make progress by placing higher at sections than Tracy and Minneota, teams that beat the Bullettes earlier in the season. Melrose's danceline continued to beat Paynesville, but the Bullettes placed right behind them at sections.

Senior Jessie Virant displayed her high kicks during a routine.

The top six teams in the section qualified for state competition. They were (1) Montevideo; (2) Yellow Medicine East; (3) Aitkin; (4) New Ulm Cathedral; (5) Pierz; and (6) Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.

Melrose placed seventh, followed by Paynesville. Other teams in high kick dance were, in order of their finish: Minneota, Lac Qui Parle Valley, Crosby-Ironton, Tracy, Renville County West, Watertown-Mayer, New London-Spicer, and Albany.

Danceline members this year were: senior Holly Bennett, senior Amanda Burlingame, junior Val Callenius, sophomore Maggie Frieler, sophomore Amanda Halvorson, senior Rachel Hanson, junior Katie Holtzclaw, junior Michelle Magedanz, sophomore Megan Reeck, sophomore Amanda Skalicky, junior Brittany Stang, senior Jessie Virant, senior Angie Wunsch, and junior Carrie Zirbes.
