City OKs new plat on Minnie Street

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

minne plat The Paynesville City Council approved a final plat for Minnie Villa, a two-lot plat on Minnie Street, last week.

The lots, which are owned by Midwest Property Solutions, were annexed to the city in October.

Located on the north side of Minnie Street - between the Industrial Park and where Lake Avenue heads north out of town - the lots total about two-thirds of an acre. One lot is 0.38 of an acre, and the other is 0.29 of an acre.

Midwest Property Solutions has requested that the property be re-zoned from agricultural to R-1 to make it suitable for single-family or two-family residential housing.

A public hearing for the re-zoning request is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 7:15 p.m. at Paynesville City Hall. The re-zoning could be approved by the city council at its meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 12.

The Minnie Villa plat is the fifth plat approved by the city this year and the second property annexed this year.
