Historical museum opens June 1 for the summer

Quilting demonstrations are slated for Sunday, June 1, at the Paynesville Historical Society Museum.

Quilting demonstrations will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Quilters Irma Spanier, Liz Rothstein, Rose Schaefer, Marcie Lieser and Rose Lieser will have a quilt set up and demonstrating the age old art.

On Sunday, June 8, stamp collecting will be theme of the day. Stamp collectors bringing their stamps for display and demonstrating are Willie Butkofski, Duane Bluhm and Lynn Luthard.

Area residents, young and old, are encouraged to come and learn more about stamp collecting. Other activities planned for the museum during the summer include doll making in July, and an antique car show on Aug. 17.

Summer employees working at the museum will be Jane Hennen, Patricia Murphy and Connie Williams. The museum is open June 1 through Labor Day weekend: Tuesday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Sundays 1 to 4:30 p.m.
