The discussion members took top three honors. First place went to Hannah Felling, followed by Melissa Andrie and Sara Boeck.
Receiving honorable mention and blue ribbons were Callie Frieler in storytelling, and Sami Tierney in creative expression.
Other members participating were Peter Schreifels, Maureen Flanders, both humorous; Alisa Schmidt, creative expression; Laurie Barten, poetry, and Jenn Terres, drama.
Teams competing at Willmar were Montevideo, St. Cloud Tech, Sibley East, New London-Spicer, Minnewaska, St. Cloud Apollo, Litchfield, and Hutchinson.
On Saturday, Feb. 17, the local team competed at the St. Michael-Albertville meet. Sami Tierney and Melissa Andrie earned third place medals. Earning honorable mention were Boeck, Felling, and Schreifels.
The speech team will next travel to Buffalo to compete on Saturday, March 3.
