The Lady Bulldogs began their season Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Pomme de Terre Golf Course in Morris, which is famous for its gigantic hill.

After two weeks of attending practice twice a day, the girls were ready to race. The weather conditions were very mild, and a light breeze made for optimum running conditions. They placed fifth out of 16 teams, which improved on last yearís eighth place finish.

Jen Hess led the Bulldogs with an excellent seventh place finish. As a freshman, she has proved herself to be one of the top runners in the area. Following her were Camille Flanders and Carin Frenchick. This senior-junior combo ran together and placed 28th and 29th, respectively.

Juniors Erin Aagesen and Tiff Rausch crossed the finish line next. Aagesen took 42nd place, and Rausch placed 47th. Mesa Frenchick was not far behind in 51st. In her first year out, Lynn Stoneburner ran a very strong race by taking 65th in a varsity race.

The next ďpack of dogsĒ consisted of Mellody Veldkamp, Anne Janotta, and Missy Winter. They all ran strong races. Veldkamp placed 78th, Janotta placed 85th, and Winter took home 88th.

For the most part, the meet went well and the girls were satisfied with the results.
