Adam Utsch led the pack with a time of 18:24, giving him an eighth place finish out of a field of approximately 100 runners. Ryan Flanders was the next Paynesville runner to cross the finish, coming in 31st with a time of 19:29.
Eric Rausch ran an impressive race in 20:06. Travis Flanders and Eric Korman beat it out to the end, both with times of 20:13. Following them were Jamie Wendlandt at 20:53, Troy Schmidt at 21:14, and Andrew Jones at 22:14.
The boys hope to be even stronger on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and on Monday, Sept. 14, at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle with the return of their captain Luc Trees, and the possible return of Clayton Lang who is currently out with a foot injury. This looks to be a bright season for the boy’s cross-country team.
