The girls had little difficulty winning the first two games, with scores of 15-10 and 15-12; but the third game proved to be more of a challenge for the Bulldogs, as the lead bounced back and forth between both teams. In the end, Melrose had the momentum and won, 15-13.
The fourth game was very similar to the third game, but a Dutchman comeback was halted when Melrose power hitter Jenny Koetter injured her hand while digging a ball. The Bulldogs won the game with a score of 15-9.
The Bulldogs played strong defense and served 91 percent for the match. The offensive attack was led by sophomore Tanya Lieser, with five kills and five ace tips. Sara Spanier had 14 assists for the Bulldogs.
