The Paynesville Area boys cross country team traveled to Little Crow Golf course to compete against other area runners. It seemed to be a perfect day for a cross country race. Many people proved this in their performances, as the varsity team came in third with 114 points.

Coming in first for the varsity team was freshmen Clayton Lang in 18:23. He ran a superb race placing eighth, earning him a medal among tough competition. The second Bulldog across the line, close behind Lang, was sophomore Luke Trees. He placed tenth in 18:30.

Dan Johnson and junior Troy Wendlandt came in third and fourth for the team. They placed 23 and 32 respectively. The fifth runner for Paynesville was Colby Sheierl. He finished the somewhat hilly course in 19:46.

Adam Utsch and Eric Rausch, both in the beginning portions of their varsity running career, ran solid races to 51 and 55. Both of these runners are looking good so far, and will continue to have an important part in the success of the team.
