The Little Crow Water Ski team finished fourth at the national competition in Rockford, Ill., over the weekend. "It was just one of those days that you had some falls, and it hurt you big-time," Mike Schroeder, announcer for the team, said. A rope broke on their second act, a three-tiered, barefoot pyramid, in addition to struggling in other events.

First place went to Wonder Lake, Ill., with 2,167 points; second place went to Janesville, Wis., with 2,023; third, Rockford, Ill., 1,904 and Little Crow, 1,901. "Being in the top five in the nation, you've got to be happy with that," Schroeder added. There were 16 teams in the competition. Little Crow won the national title in 1994.

Little Crow will resume their shows at Neer Park on Friday nights at 7 p.m. through August. Special groups can reserve seats by calling the team office number 320-796-6586.
