ēAny seventh through 12th grade student who plans to go out for football, volleyball, cross country or any sport during winter or spring must have a physical before practicing. Physicals are needed once every three years. Physical forms are available at both clinics and Jacklitch Chiropractic in Paynesville. If you choose to get a physical from an out-of-town doctor, please pick up the necessary forms from the Paynesville Area High School office.

ēHealth questionnaires and eligibility forms must be filled in and signed by parents before practicing. These may be picked up from the middle school or the high school office.

ēUsage fees:
a) Seventh and eighth grade athletes: $10 usage fee per sport must be paid before practicing.
b) Ninth through 12th grade athletes: $20 usage fee per sport must be paid before practicing. All these forms and fees may be turned into the high school office at any time or at the first practice.

ē If there is a problem with money to pay for a physical or usage fee, please contact Steve Brisendine, activities director, at the high school 320-243-7570, or notify your coach accordingly.

Cross Country
The 1997 Paynesville Area High School cross country season will begin Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m. All interested students in grades seven through 12 should meet on the high school track, and have a health questionnaire completed, a physical on file at the school, and participation fees paid.

The tradition of strong Paynesville Area High School cross country teams will again continue with many runners returning, and new athletes stepping forward to fill the gaps left by last year's graduating seniors. Paynesville will again have strong junior high and junior varsity squads.

The competitive season will begin at the Morris Invitational on Aug. 26, so all runners must be ready to begin August 11.

Any student needing additional information should contact Coach Darrell Carstens.
