Paynesville defeated Atwater 12-2 on Tuesday night, June 30, in Paynesville.

Nick Fuchs started on the mound and went the whole game for Paynesville, earning his second victory of the season. Fuchs pitched four innings allowing only two runs on four hits, while striking out four.

Fuchs also had a good night at the plate going 3-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Ryan Schneider also had a good night hitting. He was 2-2 scoring two runs and stole two bases.

Paynesville took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Schneider led off with a hit and Kevin Mehr walked. Fuchs then drove both of them in on a double.

Atwater got one back in the top of the second to make the score 2-1.

Paynesville regained their two-run lead in the bottom of the second when Joe Lingl, Dustin Humbert, and Todd Stelling all walked, and Lingl scored on a wild pitch.

Atwater was able to fight back adding one in the third to pull within one at 3-2.

But Paynesville was ready to put them away scoring one run in the bottom of the third and eight more in the bottom of the fourth before they even got one out in the fourth. That gave Paynesville the win because of the ten-run rule.
