Joel Fenske wins Green Lake race

Joel Fenske of Paynesville was the overall winner in the Green Lake Road Race on Sunday. He ran the 12 miles in 2 hours, 7 minutes, and 10 seconds, taking five minutes off his time from last year. There were 193 runners.

Fenske competes for the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He came in fifth in the North Central Conference cross-country meet last fall. He is a 1994 graduate of Paynesville High School.

Joel's brother, Brad, who will be a senior at West Point, finished 35th with a time of 1:23:58.

Also running from Paynesville were Jason Meyer, who ran the race in 1:32:34 and came in 70th, and Brett Deadrick, who came in 88th with a time of 1:35:06.
