PHS softball ends seasons with improved record

The Bulldog softball team ended their season with the annual banquet, where they celebrated an improved season that ended in the second round of the playoffs. Their over all record for the season is 6-13. In the conference, they finished 2-10. The teamís batting average was .228, and the pitchers ERA was 6.7.

Two players were selected All Conference this season. They are seniors Jen Lindquist and Milissa Hopfer. Lindquist led the team in hitting, with a batting average of .444, 14 RBIís, two doubles, four triples, 10 walks, and an 11 game hitting streak.

Hopfer was also a leader on the team, batting .309, with 14 RBIs, one home run, three triples, one double, and a seven-game hitting streak. Congrat-ulations to both of them!

Other team leaders were Trish Hemmesch with seven stolen bases, Alisha Block with 77 put outs, and Carrie Hemmesch with 40 assists.

Awards were also given out that were voted on by the team. The most valuable player award was given to Lindquist. Jen Roberg won the most enthusiastic player award. Most effort was awarded to Milissa Hopfer, and most improved was Alisha Block.

The Bulldogs are looking to a successful season next year, especially since the team was fairly young this season.
