Rain didnêt hamper 10K runners

After a welcomed downpour, the Town and Country Days 10K and two-mile fun run began on Saturday morning.

Twenty-five walkers and 49 runners participated. Winning the fun run was Riley Flanders, 11, son of Pat and Amy Flanders, Paynesville.

The 10K runners were bused from the Veteran's Park to Regional Park on the south side of Lake Koronis for the start of their race.

Jason Meyers was the first runner to reach the top of Flanders hill. He held the lead throughout most of the race and won first place honors with a time of 38:38. Winners in the trophy categories were:

«First overall woman and first woman up Flanders hill: Denise Pietig, Olivia, 42:53.

«Fastest family unit trophy went to Andy and Nick Haglund, Hawick.

«Largest family with eight members was the Flander's clan, Paynesville.
