Minnewaska meet brings second place honors to boys track

The Paynesville Bulldog boyís track team competed exceptionally well at the Minnewaska Invitational on Tuesday, April 29.

Despite windy conditions, there were some very competitive times and distances at the meet.

Grant Bowden set a meet record in the 300-meter hurdles by running an amazing 40.9 in a 25 mph wind.

Six of the Paynesville athletes have been featured in the West Central Tribune track honor roll. Listed below are the elite athletes and their area rankings:

Grant Bowden - first: 300-meter hurdles
Dan Johnson - second: 800-meter run and 1600-meter run, member of the sixth ranked 1600-meter relay
Tom Knutson - third: shot put, sixth: discus
Josh Jones - fourth: triple jump, sixth: long jump, member of the sixth ranked 1600-meter relay
Jeff Voss and Chad Hollander - members of the sixth ranked 1600-meter relay
