The Paynesville girl's track team is on a roll with another win. They won the West Central Conference meet on Thursday, May 14, in Long Prairie.

The Paynesville girl's track team was named the 1998 West Central Conference North champions, going undefeated against the conference for the season.

"This is really an outstanding accomplishment by the team and I'm really proud of the team's efforts. We were the favorites going into the meet and sometimes it's even harder to win the championship when the other teams are gunning for you," said coach Dave Randgaard. "The team showed really positive support for each other and our team chemistry is really Ôsolid.'"

Team scores were:
Paynesville - 158
Albany - 126
Long Prairie-Grey Eagle - 119
Litchfield - 98
Melrose - 70
Sauk Centre - 68
St. Cloud - 47

Jenny Hess earned first place in the mile race with a time of 5:36.

Tiffany Rausch won the 400-meter race and was named all-conference. She also won the 200-meter race as well. She was named the top sprinter in the conference.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Amber Michaelis received second place.

In the 3200-meter run, Erin Aagesen was also named all-conference in this event.

The 1600-meter relay team ran their best time of the season. The members of that relay were: Hess, Mandi McCool, Gina Benson, and Kolb.
