Paynesville lost to BDRSH 2-1 in their first game of the season at Sacred Heart on Saturday, April 4.

In the bottom of the inning with runners on second and third and two out, Chris Soine fielded a ground ball and threw the ball to first base. The umpire said first baseman Chad Fleischhackerís foot was off the base. The winning run scored on a wild pitch.

ďIt was the worst call Iíve seen. It should have been a 1-0 game, instead it ended up 2-1. We played great and so did BDRSH. The game was play-off level of intensity for a first game of the season,Ē coach Brad Skoglund said. ďIt was disappointing how the game ended but you have to play through bad situations. Those things happen.Ē

Leading the hitting for Paynesville was Brent Heinen who was 1 for 4 with doubles, Josh Erickson was 1 for 2 and Jon Lieser, 1 for 3.

On the mound for Paynesville was David Hemmesch and Brent Heinen.
