PHS baseball: Win two conference games this past week

Dustin Looman led the Bulldogs in hitting last week going 6 for 10 with 12 RBIs, and two home runs in three games.

On Monday, the Bulldogs beat St. Cloud Cathedral 12-1 in five innings behind the pitching of Brent Heinen. On Tuesday, Albany turned the tables on the Bulldogs, beating them 13-3. On Thursday, Long Prairie traveled to Paynesville, losing 10-6.

ďThe team played good ball against Cathedral on Monday. Heinen only gave up three hits and one run in five innings,Ē coach Brad Skoglund said. ďThe team is starting to hit the ball well.Ē

Albany
The tables were turned on Paynesville as they were on the losing end on Tuesday, losing 13-3 in five innings.

ďAlbany has a nice ballclub with a lot of players who can swing the bat at the balls,Ē coach Skoglund said.

Long Prairie
Paynesville hosted the Long Prairie Thunder on Thursday, winning 10-6.

ďThe game started off real slow,Ē coach Skoglund said. ďAfter taking a 7-2 lead, the team eased up, letting Long Prairie close the gap. Starting for Paynesville on the mound was Chris VanderBeek with Brent Heinen coming in the third inning.Ē
