Boys track: Young team gains experience

Last week, the Paynesville boyís track and field team competed in two area meets that helped them get some experience under their belts.

On Friday, April 17, the boys went up against six teams at New London. The boys finished fifth with a score of 72.5.

Dan Johnson took second in the 400-meter dash. He ran a 52.1 which is near a school record.

The highlight of last Fridayís meet was the 1600-meter relay. The Paynesville team, made up of two sophomores, an eighth grader, and a senior, won by more than 10 seconds.

Bulldog meet

On Tuesday, April 14, the Bulldogs hosted their second meet of the season. Five teams attended the blustery meet and the Bulldog ended up in third place.

Eric Rausch won his first race of his varsity career in the 400-meter dash. He ran a 55.88 to beat some older, more experienced runners.

Jeff Voss ran a great 300-meter hurdle race. He ran a 42.83 in some strong wind to win the event.
