Softball: Opened the season last week against NLS

The Paynesville Bulldogís softball team lost to New London-Spicer in the sixth inning, 11-1, on Monday, April 6. Paynesvilleís defense was strong, but they struggled in hitting the ball.

New London-Spicer got off to a quick start, scoring three runs in the first inning and then three more in the second.

The Bulldogís only run came when Jen Roberg put down a sacrifice bunt to bring in Trish Hemmesch.

Melrose

On Thursday, April 9, the Bulldogs hosted their first home game of the season. Even though the weather was beautiful, Paynesville could not pull off the win. They lost to Melrose 15-2 in five innings.

The Bulldogís lone hit of the afternoon came from Jen Lindquist. Lindquistís hit scored Nikki Hemmesch and Milissa Hopfer, both of whom had walked earlier in the fourth inning.
