Girls win St. John's track meet by 22 points

The Paynesville girls track team participated in their second and final indoor meet of this season at St. John's on April 4. Despite the absence of seven members due to injury and conflict, the girls won the meet by more than twenty points.

Running events:
The two milers, Erin Aagesen and Paula Leyendecker came in first and second, respectively.

Amber Michaelis and Cindy Lang came in third and fifth in the 60-yard hurdles.

Sara Spanier came in sixth with an 8.2, and in the 400-meter dash Tiffany Rausch finished first.

The one-mile relay ended the meet by finishing first, with a time of 4:43.8. Relay members were Karsch, Leyendecker, Benson, and Rausch.

Field events:
Gina Benson cleared 5'2" in the high jump to claim first place, and Michaelis jumped a 4'10" to receive fourth.

In the triple jump, Joy Hemmesch jumped 28'2" and claimed fifth place.

The next meet for both teams is rescheduled to Friday, April 11 at Paynesville. The meet begins at 4:30 p.m.
