Boys track places second at St. John's

On Friday, April 4, the Paynesville Bulldog boy's track team finished second at their second indoor meet of the season.

Teams participating were: Foley, Wadena-Deer Creek, Crosby-Ironton, BOLD, St. John's Prep, and Paynesville.

Running events:
Andy Heinen won a tight hurdles race in which the top three finishers had the same time. Grant Bowden and Troy Wendlandt placed fourth and fifth in that race.

Jeff Voss and Seth Elmhorst finished in the middle of a close 60-yard dash, and the 1600-meter run had three Paynesville runners place in the top six, out of 24 runners.

Matt Jorgensen improved his previous 2-mile time by over 30 seconds, and the boys mile relay team finished a respectable second.

Field events:
Tom Knutson placed third in the shot put.

Josh Jones placed second in the high jump.

The Paynesville boys will run their next meet at home on Friday, April 11, at 4:30 p.m.
