The Paynesville Bulldog baseball team opened up their season with their first practice March 17.

The Bulldog's season opener is scheduled for April 3 at home against New London-Spicer.

The Bulldogs look like they'll be strong on pitching with Mike Stalboerger, David Hemmesch, and Jason Schlecht possibly the Bulldogs top pitchers. All-conference catcher Josh Williams will be returning, which will be a definite advantage for Paynesville.

The Bulldogs are loaded with seniors this year. Stalboerger, Schlecht, Williams, Ken Leo, Aaron Ziemer, Darren Michaelis, Brandon Wensmann, Jeremy Reiter, Josh Mueller, and John Gottwald are all returning.

Last season the team ended their season as co-champions with St. Cloud Cathedral. They hope they will repeat their season victories and end again as WCC champions.
