The girl's track team began practice under the direction of head coach Dave Randgaard and assistant coaches Scott George and Tina Lang, on Monday, March 10. Twenty girls are on the team this season, 13 of whom are returning letter winners.

Returning letter winners are: seniors Steph Tangen, Nicole Orbeck, and Amanda Lieser; juniors Teresa Rodriguez and Sara Spanier; sophomores Gina Benson, Jesse Hennen, Paula Leyendecker, and Amber Michaelis; and freshmen Erin Aagesen, Carin Frenchick, Courtney Karsch, and Tiffany Rausch.

Also joining the team is sophomore Trish Lieser; freshmen Jodi Fuchs, Cindy Lang, Krysta Larson, Amanda McCool and Melissa Winter; and eighth grader Joy Hemmesch.

The girls return as defending Sub-Section 20 champions and WCC runner-ups. "Last season will be a tough act to follow, but the girls can have an outstanding season. We lost no seniors and have most of last year's team back, along with some new members this season," said Randgaard.

The girls will participate in their first indoor meet at Halenbeck Hall, on the St. Cloud State University campus, Saturday, March 22. The meet will start at 1 p.m. "This team has a lot of athletic ability and talent. I have been very encouraged by our Ďteam' attitude and the hard work shown in practice," added Randgaard.
