Girls basketball: Record win over Sauk Centre

On Friday, Feb. 20, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Sauk Centre to face the Mainstreeters. They came home victorious with a 60-41 win.

The Bulldogs have had a problem with starting the game off at a slow pace, so their only goal was to come out strong at the start.

The Bulldogs outscored the Streeters in every quarter, and ran away with a solid 60-41 victory.

Amber Michaelis and Tanya Lieser led the scoring attack for the Bulldogs. Michaelis broke out of her scoring slump with a 24-point performance while Lieser chipped in 19 points of her own.

On Monday, Feb. 16, the Bulldogs hosted MACCRAY. They played hard, but the Lady Bulldogs were defeated 62-41.

The girls started slowly and played poor defense as MACCRAY jumped out to a 24-4 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Tanya Lieser led the Bulldogs in scoring with 10 points. Carrie Hemmesch followed closely behind with eight points.

On Thursday, Feb. 19, the Lady Bulldogs hosted the Litchfield Dragons for Parentís Night. But even with the support of their parents and the pep band, the girls were unable to come away with a win, as they were defeated 50-28.

Tanya Lieser led the Bulldogs with seven points and seven rebounds.
