On Saturday, Feb. 14, the Paynesville-New London-Spicer (PNLS) Squirts traveled to Buffalo to take on Hanover. PNLS outshot Hanover 25-17 but the Hanover goalie was tough to beat as he constantly turned away the Squirts attempts to score. PNLS suffered a lapse in the second period as Hanover errupted for three goals. Jamie Paul scored the lone goal unassisted in the first period for PNLS.

On Sunday, Feb. 15, Paynesville played at Richmond due to poor ice condition in Paynesville. The PNLS Squirts played their final Minnesota Amateur Hockey Association District 5 league home game at the River Lakes Arena and came away with a 3-1 victory. Alex Naujokas sparked the Squirts with two goals and an assist. Richie Norris also had a goal and an assist. PNLS goalie Ross Barten turned away 12 shots on goal. PNLS finished the MAHA District 5 league schedule with a winning record of 7-6-3. They end their season this week with a nonleague game against Benson and Sauk Centre.
