Wrestling: Go 1-1 in triangular

On Friday, Feb. 6, the Paynesville wrestlers hosted their last two matches of the regular year, with a triangular against a state ranked Canby team and Minnewaska.
Paynesvilleís first match of the night was against Canby. The Bulldogs started the night off at 103 with a win by Jeremy Sogge, however, Canby came back with a pin at 112.
One of the key matches of the night was at 145 with Colby Scheierl defeating a state ranked wrestler by a decision. Paynesville lost its last three matches to some tough wrestlers and only lost to Canby by four points, 29-25.
The second match and final one of their regular season, the Bulldogs faced Minnewaska. Paynesville won this match easily, 40-21, by defeating eight of 13 opponents.
One of the key matches of this match was again at 145 with Paynesvilleís Scheierl defeating another good wrestler by a decision.
Paynesville hung on to win 40-21. The Bulldogs were 1-1 for the night and are waiting to start the sub-section matches.
