The Lady Bulldogs had a tough schedule last week as they played state-rated Annandale and St. Cloud Cathedral.

On Monday, Feb. 2, the Bulldogs hosted the Annandale Cardinals, who were rated in the top 10 in the state in this yearís preseason poll. The Cardinals defeated the Bulldogs, 82-42.

Annandale: 22 24 20 16 - 82
Paynesville : 7 11 9 15 - 42

St. Cloud Cathedral
On Thursday, Feb. 5, the Bulldogs traveled to St. Cloud to face the Cathedral Crusaders, and once again, the girls were defeated, with a score of 79-32.

Spirits were high for this game, and the possibility of an upset was extremely high. Only weeks earlier, the Bulldogs had lost to Cathedral by just 16 points, and that was without sophomore center Tanya Lieser, who supplies an average of over 10 points for the team.

The Bulldogs soon found their dream of an upset was not to be, as Cathedral point guard Laura Henry defeated the Bulldogs single handed with a 38-point performance.

Cathedral: 28 16 19 16 -79
Paynesville: 8 10 8 6 - 32
