This article submitted by Courtney Karsch on 1/6/98.

On Saturday, Jan. 3, the girls hockey team played Brainerd in Brainerd. The girls were able to return home with a 4-1 victory added to their list of wins.

Knowing Brainerd was ranked lower than the Stars, the girls went into the game all fired up. Less than a minute after the period began, Julia Jager scored the first of three goals for the period.

No goals were scored in the second period.

At the end of the third period, Courtney Karsch scored. Even though the Stars were devastated because of two injuries, they were happy to win the game with a final score of 4-1 over Brainerd.

River Lakes: 3 0 1 -4
