The Paynesville Bulldog boy's basketball team started their season on Dec. 2, on the road, against Kimball.

Returning to the varsity squad are: David Hemmesch, Ross Jenniges, Lael Zwiefel, Josh Jones, Ryan Hemingson, Eric Glenz, Brent Heinen, and Matt Carstens. Also on the varsity squad are senior Tim Lieser, junior Andrew Meagher, and freshman J.T. Koehn.

The head varsity coach is Darrel Carstens assisted by Todd Knudsvig and Darrin Carstens.

Tragedy befell Joe Bergstrom a week before practice started, when he shattered his thumb. Because of this injury, he will be out for six weeks. The team will really miss his presence on the court.

The boys basketball team has had two different scrimmages against six teams. The Bulldogs competed very well against the competition, not losing a single game.

Coach Carstens and the team have a positive attitude towards what is to come this season.
