Stars top Bagley, lose to Litch, Alex

By Michael Jacobson

The River Lakes Stars boys' hockey team lost games to Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato and Alexandria last week, but beat Bagley 5-1 on Saturday at the Koronis Civic Arena for their second victory.

Junior wing Mike Anderson scored a hat trick for the Stars against Bagley, whom the Stars beat to improve to 2-4-1 for the season.

The Stars lost to Litchfield/D-C on Thursday 5-3 on the road. Litch/D-C jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first period, with sophomore forward Nick Dahlen scoring an unassisted goal for the Stars.

Twice in the second period the Stars cut the lead to a goal, but each time Litch/D-C responded with a goal. Scoring for the Stars were junior wing Mike Anderson and senior defenseman Luke Braun.

Neither team scored in the third period.

Alexandria scored five goals in the second period to put the game away and won 9-1.
