Gymnastics team loses a tough one

The Paynesville varsity gymnastics team had a very close meet against Sauk Centre on Thursday, Dec. 17. Unfortu-nately they lost 125.75-123.9.
The gymnasts started the night out on vault. Joy Hemmesch earned second place with an 8.65. Krysta Larson came in fourth with a score of 8.5. Taking fifth was Jenni Mayer with a score of 8.3.
Next the gymnasts moved to the bar competition. The gymnasts earned three out of five places. Camille Flanders swung a 7.65 putting her in third place. Coming in fourth was Krysta Larson with a 7.5. Joy Hemmesch took fifth place with a 6.8.
The gymnasts then traveled to beam where they all had good routines. Starting them off was Camille Flanders getting a 7.45 and fifth place. Joy Hemmesch came in third with a score of 7.8. Earning second place was Krysta Larson with an 8.15.
Finally the Bulldogs got their turn on floor. Krysta Larson got a 7.9 tying with a Sauk Centre gymnast for third. Coming in second was Joy Hemmesch with a score of 8.0. The other gymnasts all had nice routines but didn’t place in the top five.
In the all-around competition Krysta Larson earned third place with a score of 32.05. Joy Hemmesch got a 31.25 putting her in fourth place.
