Girls basketball: lost three games this week

The Lady Bulldogs had a busy week as they hosted St. Cloud Cathedral and Sauk Centre, and traveled to Litchfield. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were unable to come out of any of the games with a win.

On Monday, Jan. 12, the Bulldogs played against the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders, and were defeated 64-47.

Amber Michaelis and Carrie Hemmesch led the way for the Bulldogs. Michaelis knocked down 18 points while Hemmesch ripped down seven rebounds.

Sauk Centre
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Bulldogs hosted the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters, and lost a tough game, 46-35.

At the half, the Bulldogs were down by one with a score of 20-19. The rest of the game belonged to Sauk Centre as they out scored the Bulldogs 26-16 during the second half.

Sophomores Tanya Lieser and Carrie Hemmesch led the Bulldogs. Lieser grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots while Hemmesch netted 11 points.

On Friday, Jan. 16, the Bulldogs traveled to Litchfield to face the Dragons and lost their third straight conference game, 50-40.

Tanya Lieser led the Bulldogs with yet another double-double. She supplied 18 points and 11 rebounds.
