Thirty-three SuperShooters advance

Thirty-three athletes in grades four through eight put their basketball shooting skills to the test last week. In the annual Jaycee SuperShoot contest, the competitors had 60 seconds to shoot as many baskets as they could from seven different locations on the court, each shot earning them points.

The top two in each age group advances to the region competition on Jan. 18, in Paynesville. The winners in the boys competition were: fourth grade, Mitchell Mackedanz and Jeff Schaefer; fifth grade, Ross Jaeger and Tyler Kochman; sixth grade, Todd Stelling and Kevin Mehr; seventh grade, Andrew Jones and Wes Lieser; eighth grade, Marc Guillet and Ryan Hunt.

Girlís competition winners were: fourth grade, Brittany Lieser and Leah Spanier; fifth grade, Amber Orbeck and RaeAnn Knisley; sixth grade, Danielle Lieser and Kayla Hemingson; seventh grade, Stacy and Sara Lieser; eighth grade, Katrina Orbeck and Mellody Veldkamp.
