Senior linebacker Joe Nosbush was named to the 2000 All-Area Football Team by the West Central Tribune.

Nosbush played middle linebacker for the Bulldogs this fall. He led Paynesville with 158 tackles and set six school records on defense.

Though undersized, Nosbush led the Bulldogs' defense with his aggressive play. "Pound for pound, he's the hardest hitting football player I've had," said head coach Kyle Nehowig.

Nosbush holds career records for defensive points (516), tackles (332), and solo tackles (100). This year he set a season record for defensive points (255) and game records for defensive points (44) and tackles (29).

Nosbush earned All Conference honors this year and earned honorable mention honors last year. He also led the Bulldogs in tackling as a junior.

The Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 2-7 and 2-3 in conference.
