Boys notch up big opening win over ACGC

This article submitted by Aaron Ziemer on 12/10/96.

The Bulldogs kicked off their season with a big win over ACGC on Friday night at Paynesville.

Paynesville took a big lead in the first quarter, outscoring the Falcons 28-10, and Paynesville never looked back.

Michael Stalboerger led the Bulldogs with 18 points and went five for seven from the three-point line. Joe Bergstrom also had a big night, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Bulldogs had 48 rebounds.

ACGC was a non-conference win, but it was a big way to start the season off. Paynesvilleís next game should prove to be a little more difficult as they play the Littchfield Dragons, who knocked them out of the playoffs last season. The game was played Monday night in Litchfield. A complete story will run in next week's Press.
