Cross country team ends season with banquet

The Paynesville Area High School cross country team completed their season with a banquet at Jimmy's Pizza on Monday, Nov. 22.

Head coach Darrel Carstens and assistant coach Rick Houske spoke about the season and handed out awards.

Most Mileage: Clayton Lang and Jen Hess;
Most Valuable: Clayton Lang and Jen Hess;
Most Enthusiastic: Eric Korman and Carin Frenchick;
Most Improved: Riley Flanders and Kim Hess;
Bulldog Pride: Tommy Flannigan, Eric Korman, and Mellody Veldcamp;
All Conference: Clayton Lang, Adam Utsch, Luc Trees, Jen Hess, and Kim Hess;
All State: Jen Hess;
Senior Award: Luc Trees, Tiff Rausch, Carin Frenchick, and Erin Aagesen.

Last week, Jen Hess was chosen byThe St. Cloud Times as the girl runner of the year in its readership area. Hess won ten races this fall and finished third in Class A at the state meet.

Junior Clayton Lang was an honorable mention to the boys' team by theTimes.
