The boys basketball team had their first practice on Monday, Nov. 18.

Darrel Carstens is the varsity coach. Todd Knudsvig is coaching the B-squad and Darrin Carstens is the ninth grade coach.

The Bulldogs hope to improve on last year's season. The team had a regular season record of 13-8. They ended the season with a disappointing loss to Litchfield in the first round of the playoffs.

The season's team has five seniors: Grant Bowden, Mike Stalboerger, Eric Werlinger, Josh Williams, Ken Leo, Jeff Meyer and Aaron Ziemer.

The team also has five juniors: Joe Bergstrom, David Hemmesch, Tony Hoffman, Ross Jenniges and Lael Zwiefel.

The Buldogs' lack of height could be a disadvantage. Jenniges and Hemmesch, the team's tallest players, are each only 6 feet 3 inches tall.

Coach Carstens said in order to win games, the Bulldogs are going to have to hustle and spread the floor.

The Bulldogs play their opening game on Friday, Dec. 6, at home against ACGC. The B-squad begins play at 6:15 p.m.
